#Office365Challenge In today’s post we’ll take a look at adding animations to your PowerPoint presentation.

Yesterday we had a look at transitions between your slides, now animations are similar, but the “magic” gets applied to an object.

Animation can help make a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation more dynamic, and help make information more memorable. The most common types of animation effects include entrances and exits. You can also add sound to increase the intensity of your animation effects. – Microsoft

Again, I cannot say this enough – do not overdo this. Too much will be distracting and will steal the attention away from the actual content of your presentation.

In below example I’ve added 3 images. I’ve clicked on each image and added an Animation – this will “Fly” the objects in on the presentation from the right.

Once the animation is added, you can set whether it starts with or after the previous animation:

Click on Effect options to open the settings box. Here I’ve set the animation to fly in from the right, and I’ve also set the speed:

In presentation mode, this is what the slide will look like:
