#Microsoft365 #Office365 #OfficeLens #OneNote #OneDrive As preparation for the upcoming #IntraTeam18 conference in Copenhagen I’ve started setting up my OneNote sections and pages I’d like to use for the conference. I use my mobile to take notes, pictures and reference files. Let me show you how easy this is and hopefully you’ll consider these as the go-to apps for your meeting minutes and brainstorming sessions (wish I had this when I was still in Compliance doing Site Audits).

Office Lens

“Office Lens is a great way to capture notes and info from whiteboards, menus, signs, handwritten memos, or anything with a lot of text. You don’t need to jot down notes, rely on blurry images or worry about misplacing anything. It’s great for capturing sketches, drawings and equations too, and even images without text.

Office Lens gets rid of shadows and odd angles so images are easier to read. You can upload document and whiteboard images to Word, PowerPoint, OneNote, OneDrive, and you can save them as PDFs or send them in mail.” Read more…

The Office Lens App on iOS and Android allows you to take photos of Whiteboards, Documents, Business Cards or just Photos. As you’ll see below, the Whiteboard option is great for taking photos which were taken at an ‘angle’ and turning them flat for use. You can then send this to OneNote or OneDrive or just save to your Device.

I’ve had some issues with the business card option and got the following error:

“The user credentials are needed to obtain access token. Please call non-silent acquireTokenWithResource methods.” I found a call logged for this and it mentions removing and re-adding the OneDrive access. I have not been successful for this, but will try again.

I do however prefer using it straight from OneNote.

OneNote

“Do you scribble great ideas on napkins and sticky notes? Is precise filing more your style? OneNote’s got you covered whatever way you shape your thoughts. Type, write or draw with the free form feel of pen to paper. Search and clip from the web to picture ideas.” Read more…

As you’ll see below, I’ve already prepped my new section in OneNote. It’s easier (for me) to setup the sections and pages on PC then use on mobile once synced.

I’ve written a couple of posts on using OneNote which will help get you started.

As mentioned, I’m using Office Lens straight from OneNote. Click on Camera to insert a photo or take a picture. You can then choose from Whiteboard / Photo / Document.

You can also add voice notes and bullets for tasks:

OneDrive

“OneDrive for Business is the Microsoft cloud storage service that comes with Office 365 or SharePoint Server. With OneDrive, you can securely store all your files in one place, share them with others, and get to them from anywhere.” Read more…

OneDrive of course helps me access my files wherever I am. If you’re downloading PDF’s / Presentations on your phone. Save them straight to your OneDrive.

Purpose of this blog challenge:  I will write 365 blogs in 365 days around Microsoft 365. I did a similar challenge with Office 365, blogs can be found here. I won’t just be talking about the new Microsoft 365 subscription model. I will be sharing any news, tips and tricks around Office / Office 365 / Windows / Mobility and Security. And let’s not forget all the great new Apps & services available.  A lot of what I’ll share on Office and SharePoint will also be applicable to none “Office 365” versions.
