How great would it be if you could navigate to your site’s landing page, and right there is a web part that displays all the last documents you’ve worked on, regardless of which library they’re loaded in. Imagine that?!?! Well you can, with OTB SharePoint.

Description: | How to add and use a Relevant Documents Web Part |
How do we do this?
Edit the page where you want to add the web part. Go to Insert > Web Part. Under the “Content Rollup” category you’ll see “Relevant Documents”. Add the web part. You can now configure to show a certain amount of items etc. Save the page.
Keep in mind that this is based on the last modified / created by and the user who is signed in. No two users’ Relevant Documents web parts will look the same.
Sorted!!! See you tomorrow.
Overview of my challenge: As an absolute lover of all things Microsoft, I’ve decided to undertake the challenge, of writing a blog every single day, for the next 365 days. Crazy, I know. And I’ll try my best, but if I cannot find something good to say about Office 365 and the Tools it includes for 365 days, I’m changing my profession. So let’s write this epic tale of “Around the Office in 365 Days”. My ode to Microsoft Office 365.

Hi, I tried to add in this web part, but I only see the option under content rollup for “Project Summary” … any idea why?

Hi William. Please give me more information – SP on premises or 365 etc? And also, what site template and type of page are you trying to add this on?
