#Office365Challenge – The templates in Microsoft Office are pretty awesome, but if you create a lot of new documents, and only use the blank template – it’s painful to first go through picking the blank template you’d like to use.

Day: 157 of 365, 208 left
Tools: Windows
Description: Open Blank Template as default in Microsoft Office

When opening Word, Excel etc., this is normally the screen you are greeted with. It’s quite cool as it exposes people to the various templates available, but if you are familiar with these, and you just click on blank document – then it wastes time.

To change this to always open the blank template as default, do the following:
1. Open application (Word, Excel etc.)
2. Click on File
3. Click on Options (1)
4. Under the General Tab (2), untick the  “Show Start Screen when this Application Starts”(2)

DefaultTemplate

You can always change this back by ticking the box again.

And yes. That’s all there is to it!!

Overview of my challenge: As an absolute lover of all things Microsoft, I’ve decided to undertake the challenge, of writing a blog every single day, for the next 365 days. Crazy, I know. And I’ll try my best, but if I cannot find something good to say about Office 365 and the Tools it includes for 365 days, I’m changing my profession. So let’s write this epic tale of “Around the Office in 365 Days”. My ode to Microsoft Office 365.

Keep in mind that these tips and tricks do not only apply to Office 365 – but where applicable, to the overall Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint.
