#Office365Challenge
The summary Link web parts in SharePoint is a great way to add a “custom footer” to your team site landing page.

Day: 170 of 365, 195 left
Tools: SharePoint
Description: Summary Links Web Parts

As mentioned, these are great web parts to use for custom footers on your team site landing pages.

You need to edit your page to add the web part:

  1. Insert
  2. Web Part
  3. Content Rollup
  4. Summary Links
  5. Add

Once the web part is added, you can configure the style and layout. I’ve set it to only show titles, the style of the Group Headers is “Banded” and I’ve selected to show 4 columns.

These links can only be added when the page is in edit mode – that’s why I call them footers (not quick links for users).

I’ve created 4 Groups:

  1. About Us
  2. Contact Us
  3. Services
  4. Other

Now that the groups are created, you can add links. Click on New Link, add the description, the URL and link it to a Group.

This is the end result:

Pretty awesome right?! Join me tomorrow when we’ll spend some more time on these and your landing page.

Overview of my challenge: As an absolute lover of all things Microsoft, I’ve decided to undertake the challenge, of writing a blog every single day, for the next 365 days. Crazy, I know. And I’ll try my best, but if I cannot find something good to say about Office 365 and the Tools it includes for 365 days, I’m changing my profession. So let’s write this epic tale of “Around the Office in 365 Days”. My ode to Microsoft Office 365.

Keep in mind that these tips and tricks do not only apply to Office 365 – but where applicable, to the overall Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint.
