Microsoft FastTrack
In the previous posts we covered the following steps:
Step 1: Sign In to Microsoft FastTrack
Step 2: Create the Success Plan
Step 3: Complete the Business Case
Step 4: Service Readiness
The success plan consists of the following segments:
- Business Case
- Service Readiness
- Onboarding
- Adoption Activities
Today we’ll have a look at the Onboarding:
Based on your Workloads (products listed), you will be required to complete a questionnaire on each. This is where it gets quite technical for me. Another reason to ask your partner to start this process for you and assist with all these steps, after all they are the experts and will be able to guide you every step of the way.
Examples of some of the questions are:
- Please list all domains you plan to use with Office 365 and their intent below:
- The Office 365 Health, Readiness, and Connectivity Checks (HRC) help validate client and service configuration. If you ran the HRC, what was listed as the recommended identity approach?
- What Office 365 identity approach will be used for the scope of this plan?
Is two-factor, multi-factor, or strong authentication required? - Do you intend to use Azure Rights Management with Office 365? …..
Let’s recap what FastTrack is to make sure you know what to expect from it and how to go about it:
What is FastTrack?
Every day, you help customers achieve more. To get the most value from the products and services you provide. That’s why we created Microsoft FastTrack—a success service that can enable your customers smoothly and confidently make the move to Microsoft cloud services like Office 365 and Enterprise Mobility Suite.
The Microsoft FastTrack service can help you:
Provide a great customer onboarding experience.
Shorten customer time-to-value. Accelerate your customer engagements through high-margin, high-value services
So if you want to move to the Cloud – this is the way to go. All these questions and steps are crucial in making sure all the checkboxes are ticked and everything is considered. Without documenting it all, you can never ensure you are prepared for everything and will not have measurements for success.
Catch you tomorrow for the Adoption Activities.
Overview of my challenge: As an absolute lover of all things Microsoft, I’ve decided to undertake the challenge, of writing a blog every single day, for the next 365 days. Crazy, I know. And I’ll try my best, but if I cannot find something good to say about Office 365 and the Tools it includes for 365 days, I’m changing my profession. So let’s write this epic tale of “Around the Office in 365 Days”. My ode to Microsoft Office 365.
Keep in mind that these tips and tricks do not only apply to Office 365 – but where applicable, to the overall Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint.
